River Valley Community College seeks a qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach “Clinical Practicum Site Visits” for our Fall 2025 semester. River Valley Community College can only hire faculty who reside in the six (6) New England states.

Course Description & Delivery
The phlebotomy course is designed to provide the student with theoretical and introductory technical skills of a phlebotomist. This course covers topics of anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, medical terminology, structures of the health care system and laboratory, safety, types of laboratory analyses, equipment, sources of error and medico-legal issues surrounding the practice of phlebotomy. Specimen collection techniques focusing on safe and accurate skill development will be emphasized. The course is taught in person with both lecture and laboratory components.

Fall Schedule: Fridays lecture 10:00 – 11:50 am and Fridays lab 1:00-2:50 pm

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in health sciences. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in education shall require an Associate Degree in Phlebotomy or a closely related health science field.

Experience: Three (3) years of teaching experience in phlebotomy or three (3) years of business or industry experience as a Phlebotomist.

OR

Education: Associate’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in Phlebotomy.

Experience: Five (5) years of teaching experience in phlebotomy or five (5) of business or industry experience as a Phlebotomist.

Adjunct Compensation: Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
