Nashua Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required. Adjunct appointments are temporary and for a specified contract period only.

We have a need for an instructor to teach the following Networking courses:

CSCN101N Computer Architecture and Operating Systems - Computer architecture refers to the basic components that make up a computer system. This includes the operation and interrelation of its internal components and peripheral devices, its memory organization, the Basic O/O (BIOS) system, and storage. Students will become sufficiently familiar with computer hardware to be able to build or fix computers. Windows, Linus, Mac OS and Android operating systems will be introduced with emphasis on Windows OS. Students will be introduced to very basic administration both in native and virtualized systems. Command line and scripting leading to the first programming concepts will be presented. Shell scripting or interpreter, such as Python, may be used. The content of this course is intended to reflect the objectives of the industry recognized A+ Certification, which identifies skills required by IT technicians.

There are 2 sections available:
A) Tuesdays 10:00 – 11:50 AM & Thursdays 10:00 AM – 12:50 PM, and
B) Tuesdays 1:00 – 2:50 PM & Thursdays 1:00 – 3:50 PM.

CSCN104N Internet of Things- Internet of Things prepares a student to understand, design, implement, and maintain a modern communications system. Current systems are focusing on the convergence of voice, data, and video all transmitted across a common network structure. This course introduces the various media that are used in the transmission process. It includes, but is not limited to: Twisted Pair Cable, Coaxial Cable, Fiber Optic Cable, and Wireless technologies. Students will be exposed through simulation or hands on to PLCs and Single Board Computers such as Raspberry Pi. Students will discuss detections and response to stimuli using current methods. Students will be expected to learn to communicate their technical knowledge to both technical and non-technical audiences.

There are 2 sections available:
A) Tuesdays 3:00 – 4:50 PM & Thursdays 4:00 – 5:50 PM, and
B) Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00AM – 11:50 AM

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are Masters Degree in the specific subject or closely related field and three years’ experience in teaching, business, or industry in related field. The salary range for this position is $700-$950 per contact hour. The rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
