Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required.

Adjunct Faculty: Veterinary Technology

The instructor will be responsible for helping to prepare and to teach two 3-hour labs each week. The lab will include instruction in Clinical Pathology as it relates to veterinary technology, including testing in hematology, parasitology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis. The instructor will work with the primary instructor for the course to plan the schedule and content of the labs.

The instructor will follow departmental policies and utilize Canvas (the college’s LMS) in their instruction. The instructor will participate in training for essential skill assessment of students following standardized criteria.

Course: VETN 220G Veterinary Clinical Pathology I

Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require in classroom or online instruction.

The minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:

Education: DVM; AS in Veterinary Technology from a CVTEA-AVMA accredited veterinary technology program; BS degree with a minimum 5 years’ experience as a veterinary technician

Experience: Two (2) years' professional experience in the field of veterinary technology if DVM or AS in Veterinary Technology. Five (5) years’ professional experience if BS.

Licensure: The instructor must be a licensed veterinarian or a credentialed veterinary technician. A credentialed veterinary technician who has graduated from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program is preferred.

The compensation rate is $750-$900 per contact hour [or $47.00-$58.30 per clinical rate per hour]. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
