Adjunct Faculty Psychology

NHTI-Concord’s Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in teaching at the college on a course-by-course basis.

Semester: Spring 2023 and Fall 2023

PSYC 105MC: Introduction to Psychology: Mindful

Adjunct Faculty: $750-$900 per credit. The credit rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and employment and/or teaching experience.

An introductory college course in psychology which focuses on the fundamental facts and principles of psychology within the broader context of contemporary personal and social concerns. Topics may include the historical development of the discipline, scientific methodology, human development, motivational theory, consciousness, sensation and perception, learning, thinking, memory, emotions, biological basis of behavior, personality theory, psychopathology, sexuality, and measurements and statistics. PSYC 105MC features the study of mindfulness and incorporates mindfulness meditation as an optional instructional method while also exploring aspects of emotional intelligence as they relate to psychology.

Availability to teach on campus in Concord, NH, days and/or evenings preferred, with online teaching availability and experience and familiarity with Canvas or a similar learning management system (LMS) a plus.

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in psychology or a closely related area; experience with mindfulness practice and trauma-sensitive mindfulness required; prior college-level teaching and on-line experience preferred. Applicants for both in-person and online/remote teaching must reside in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, or Connecticut).
