Adjunct Faculty: Philosophy

NHTI-Concord’s Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in teaching at the college on a course-by-course basis.

Semester: Fall

The instructor will be responsible for preparing and teaching the following 16-week course:

Contemporary Ethical Issues

Course Number: PHIL 242C

Lecture Hours: 3

Lab, Clinic or Practicum Hours: 0

Credit Hours: 3

This course is a philosophical examination of major contemporary ethical issues. Topics may include biomedical ethics, business ethics, environmental ethics, human sexuality, and ethics related to life-and-death decisions. The emphasis is on acquiring the philosophical skills necessary to guide self and others in the process of ethical decision making. Cases are used for study and discussion.

Requirements: Master’s degree in philosophy (or a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits) required. Availability to teach on campus in Concord, NH. Familiarity with Canvas or a similar learning management system (LMS) is recommended. Residency in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT required. (Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.)

Adjunct Faculty: $750-$900 per credit. The credit rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and employment and/or teaching experience.
