PHIL 242C: Contemporary Ethical Issues

Adjunct Faculty: $750-$900 per credit. The credit rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and employment and/or teaching experience.

This course is a philosophical examination of major contemporary ethical issues. Topics may include biomedical ethics, business ethics, environmental ethics, human sexuality, and ethics related to life-and-death decisions. The emphasis is on acquiring the philosophical skills necessary to guide self and others in the process of ethical decision making. Cases are used for study and discussion.

Availability to teach in-person and/or online is necessary, and experience and familiarity with Canvas or a similar learning management system (LMS) is a plus. Please state your availability for spring 2024 in-person instruction on our Concord, NH, campus on Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as on online.

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in philosophy or a closely related area or a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits in the applicable discipline. Applicants for both in-person and online teaching must reside in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, or Connecticut.
