River Valley Community College is accepting applications for faculty teaching position in our Respiratory Therapy program; strong academic background is required. River Valley Community College can only hire faculty who reside in the six (6) New England states.

SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students and to develop curricula in the Respiratory Therapy program and to assist in departmental and/or institutional activities that support the mission of the college. This position is located within the Department of Allied Health and shall report to the Department Chair of that department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Education, Adult Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Master's degree in Education or Adult Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in Respiratory Therapy or in Health related discipline and a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Three years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Respiratory Therapy instructor, with least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care and/or two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member within a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.

OR

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Education shall require an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Respiratory Therapy Instructor, with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care and/or two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.

Licensure/Certifications: Valid driver’s license. Valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program within one year of employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in Respiratory Therapy. Experience in collaborative co-teaching environments, online teaching, curriculum development, course equivalency evaluation, and the creation of transfer and articulation agreements. Familiarity with teaching and clinical software including Zoom, Canvas, and Trajecsys.
