Part-time, up to 25 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled, or at the discretion of Great Bay Community College.

SCOPE OF WORK: Coordinates all aspects of the phlebotomy and the 12-week Medical Assistant training programs with responsibility for overseeing curriculum development and program instructors, arranging externship sites, engaging with employers for job placement, tracking student progress such as completion and job success. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development at Great Bay Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinates the Medical Assistant and phlebotomy programs. Develops, implements and evaluates curricula set forth by accrediting or professional agencies, maintains and updates course/program documents.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage qualified instructors to teach program courses.
  • Oversee student admissions process and ensure program meets enrollment targets.
  • Identify and establish relationships with medical facilities to host student externships.
  • Monitors student attendance, progress, and success in the classroom setting and provides career and job placement assistance to prepare students for employment.
  • Compiles and analyzes data on program metrics (completion rates, placement rates, etc.)
  • Identifies areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance program quality including recommending additional curricula, course delivery, and program activities in the healthcare field.
  • Manages the program budget and resources efficiently.
  • Participates in and supports operations by assisting with marketing strategies, cultivating relationships with business and industry in healthcare, workforce boards, apprenticeship team and educational partners.
  • Assists with development and implementation of college sponsored recruitment activities including career and job fairs, student orientations, registrations and award ceremonies.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in Education, business management, healthcare administration, nursing, allied health, or related field.

Experience: Two (2) years' professional experience in the field of healthcare, workforce development, or educational programs with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation.

Valid driver's license for travel throughout the state.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of course of instruction, teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation. Considerable knowledge of the industry standards, occupational requirements, and placement strategies within allied health. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
