GBCC Adjunct Faculty - American Sign Language I & II
Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required. Semester: Fall 2024 Semester Adjunct Faculty: American Sign Language The instructor will be responsible for helping to prepare and to teach up to two 16-week ASL 1 courses. Course: ASL 1. The instructor must be available during the scheduled in person course time, the True Way ASL platform, and should be experienced in Canvas LMS. Available courses: Course Start date End date Days Start time End time ASL I 26-Aug-24 14-Dec-24 Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00 PM 5:20 PM ASL II 26-Aug-24 14-Dec-24 Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 PM 7:00 PM Course: ASL110G: American Sign Language 1 Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require in classroom or online instruction. The compensation rate is $800-$950 per contact hour [or $47.95 - $59.45 per clinical rate per hour if applicable]. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience. The minimum qualifications for the position are as follows: Education: Bachelor’s (minimum) or Master’s (preferred) degree from a recognized university or college. Experience: Four (4) years of teaching and/or experience in the deaf community.
