This is a part-time, 25 hour per week, position.

SCOPE OF WORK: Responsible for the operation, functioning, and day-to-day organization of the Precision Manufacturing Lab. Performs mechanical and technical duties associated with the set-up, breakdown, and maintenance of lab equipment related to course instruction and assists faculty with lab and classroom instruction. This position reports to the Precision Manufacturing Program Coordinator at Nashua Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate’s degree from a recognized college or technical institute with a major study in Manufacturing/Industrial Technology, Engineering, Machine Technology or related discipline.

Experience: Two years’ of practical/technical experience in precision manufacturing operations or closely related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; additional years of work experience in the field of precision manufacturing and/or lab operations is desired.

Licensure/Certifications: Valid driver’s license or access to transportation for statewide travel.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Considerable knowledge of the procedures and practices of laboratory technology in the field of machining and/or manufacturing. Considerable knowledge of the use of laboratory equipment (specifically CNC machine tools) and skill in the application of techniques utilized in conducting analyses using complicated machining equipment. Ability to follow standard laboratory methods and procedures regarding machining methods and procedures. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to maintain exact records of tests conducted. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
