Diesel Heavy Equipment Technology Faculty (Instructor / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor), available 01/08/26
WHITE MOUNTAINS COMMUNITY COLLEGE -Instructor Level- SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students in the Diesel Heavy Equipment Technology Program and to participate in departmental and/or institutional activities that support the mission of the college. This position shall report to the Department Chair of the Industry and Transportation Department at WMCC. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in mechanical technology, automotive technology, engineering, business, education, or related discipline. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in education shall require an Associate’s degree in mechanical technology, automotive technology, engineering, or closely related discipline. Experience: Three years of teaching experience in the diesel heavy equipment technology field or three years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of heavy equipment mechanics. OR Education: Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or technical school with major study in diesel heavy equipment technology, mechanical technology, automotive technology, engineering, business, general education, or related discipline. Experience: Five years of teaching experience in the diesel heavy equipment technology field or five years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of heavy equipment mechanics. RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of teaching methods and materials, problems and subject matter as relates to course of instruction. Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in postsecondary teaching. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures in the college to which assigned. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Evidence of good professional attitude. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority. License/Certification: Valid driver's license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Valid commercial driver’s license. Experience in hydraulics system application and diagnostics.

Ability to maintain comprehensive and accurate records of the progress and development of the individual student. Evidence of consistent satisfactory professional attitudes. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority. License/Certification: Valid driver's license. Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in postsecondary teaching. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures in the Technical Institute or College to which assigned. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Evidence of good professional attitude. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority. License/Certification: Valid driver's license. RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of teaching methods, the use of instructional materials and the organization of subject matter into effective teaching units in technology or other specialized programs. Complete knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and equipment in subjects being taught. Ability to evaluate student progress and provide guidance to both students and instructors. Ability to supervise professional instructional staff and collaborate in development of programs, policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively with businesses and community organizations. Ability to originate and implement new programs and to improve existing programs. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority. License/Certification: Valid driver's license.
