Director of Human Resources
Director of Human Resources Concord, NH Salary Range - $116,590 to $140,000 General Summary: Reporting to the Chancellor, provides leadership and direction in developing and implementing human resources strategies, programs, and policies across CCSNH in such areas as: employee/labor relations, recruitment, position/classification management, compensation, benefits, regulatory compliance and professional development and directs all aspects of the System’s centralized human resources and payroll operations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in human resources management, business administration/management, public or higher education administration, or related field. Master’s degree desired. Experience: Ten years’ professional experience in human resources, six years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative duties concerned with operational administration, program planning, and evaluation or related management experience. License/Certifications: Certifications: HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) desirable. Valid Driver’s License or access to statewide transportation. Desired Qualifications: Human resources management experience in a higher education environment. Additional Desired Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management with particular emphasis on labor relations, job classification and compensation, benefits administration, recruitment and employment practices as well as regulatory compliance. Knowledge of labor laws and human resource information systems, software, and applications. Ability to establish, encourage, and foster an environment of respect, recognition, and engagement for the wide-ranging backgrounds and perspectives of a complex college community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Adherence to the highest ethical standards, values, and principles, including honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, and discretion. Demonstrated ability to identify, resolve, and consult on a wide range of human resources issues while focusing on institutional needs and priorities. Ability to foster a collaborative approach to human resource team management through strong supervisory skills and leadership. Project management skills including the ability to define projects, prioritize and manage multiple projects, measure and evaluate progress and outcomes, and meet timelines. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend and implement solutions in a timely fashion. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral forms, and those required to be an engaged listener. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in the performance of duties. Proficient in the use of technology, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other graphic presentation software. Ability to work within the framework of a collective bargaining environment. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the management.
