Admissions & Enrollment Specialist I

SCOPE OF WORK: Performs a variety administrative support and technical duties in support of the Admission's Office. This position will report to the Director of Admissions at NHTI - Concord’s Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Communicates information about the NHTI Admission process to prospective students, family members and the general public, via telephone, face-to-face and email.
  • Responds to questions from applicants concerning application status, supporting documentation and continued steps in the enrollment process.
  • Compiles, verifies, and processes prospective student admission application documents.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of all information related directly and indirectly to student and records is maintained.
  • Assists with daily office functions, including the maintaining of student records, preparation of correspondence, and verifies the accuracy of information posted to student records.
  • Maintain familiarity with all phases of processing admissions applications and assist other Admissions Staff as office workflow and personnel needs dictate to accommodate application surges and other peaks in Admissions Office operations.
  • Provide coverage of the Admissions Office’s front desk to greet and serve walk-in prospective and current students.
  • Manages multi-line phone system and Admissions Office email.
  • Retrieves and updates information pertaining to prospective students; performs data entry using Banner SCT and TargetX software platforms.
  • Generates various reports in Banner SCT and TargetX, as needed.
  • Assists at college events such as Open Houses, Orientations, Express Admissions, etc.
  • Coordinates the class cancellation process.
  • Maintains current knowledge of College academic, student services, offices and functions.
  • Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates’ degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: No required work experience

License/Certification: None required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Computer literacy and extensive experience in the use of databases and PC-based software, including MS Office Suite, Banner, and TargetX (Salesforce).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: For appointment consideration, Admissions & Enrollment Specialist I applicants must successfully participate in a structured interview measuring possession of knowledge, skills and abilities identified as necessary for satisfactory job performance by this class specification.

Ability to meet with clients and explain programs sponsored by the department or college in which the position is located. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
