Adjunct Faculty – Art Historian
Scope: The Visual Arts Department at NHTI is seeking a dynamic and experienced adjunct faculty member to teach Survey of Western Art History I & II, and possibly reintroduce History of Modern Art. This is a part-time, non-tenure track position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and departmental needs. Accountabilities: · Teach one section of Survey of Western Art History II (VRTS112) to undergraduate students the spring semester. . Teach one section of Survey of Western Art History I (VRTS111) to undergraduate students in the fall semester. . Possibly add History of Modern Art (VRTS115) to the fall semester if needed. · Develop and deliver course content, including lectures, assignments, and exams. · Hold regular office hours to support and mentor students. · Assess and grade student performance in a timely manner. · Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities as required. · Adhere to college policies and procedures, including those related to academic integrity and student conduct. Qualifications: · Education: Master's in Art History, ABD or a closely related field from an accredited institution. · Experience: At least two years of teaching experience at the college level, preferably in Art History. · Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students; proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms. Desired Qualifications: · Ph.D. in Art History or a closely related field. · Experience teaching diverse student populations. · Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
