Adjunct Faculty – Studio Foundations
Department: Visual Arts Department Scope: The Visual Arts Department at NHTI is seeking a dynamic and experienced adjunct faculty member to teach established courses in Introduction to Drawing, Drawing II, Two-Dimensional Design and Three-Dimensional Design. This is a part-time, non-tenure track position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and departmental needs. Accountabilities: · Teach one section of either VRTS201 Drawing II and/or VRTS103 Two-Dimensional Design to undergraduate students the spring 2025 semester. . Teach one section of either VRTS101 Introduction to Drawing and/or VRTS104 Three-Dimensional Design to undergraduate students in the fall 2025 semester. . Possibly add other course options if needed and appropriate to experience. · Develop and deliver course content, including lectures, assignments, and exams. · Hold regular office hours to support and mentor students. · Assess and grade student performance in a timely manner. · Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities as required. · Adhere to college policies and procedures, including those related to academic integrity and student conduct. Qualifications: · Education: MFA, MA or a closely related field from an accredited institution. · Experience: At least two years of teaching experience at the college level, preferably in studio art. · Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students; proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms. Desired Qualifications: · MFA, MA or a closely related field. · Experience teaching diverse student populations. · Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
