SCOPE OF WORK: This position supports the Admissions Office in recruiting and enrolling students by engaging in outreach activities, assisting prospective students through the admissions process, and building community awareness of NHTI’s programs. It also collaborates with Marketing and other campus offices to support enrollment goals and reports to the Director of Admissions at NHTI, Concord’s Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supports admissions recruitment efforts by participating in events such as open houses, express admissions days, information sessions, and student orientation. Helps to answer questions from prospective students, families, and the community about the admissions process and NHTI's programs and services.
- Assists with outreach efforts aimed at various groups, including non-traditional students, first-generation college students, and underrepresented populations. Helps maintain relationships with local school guidance counselors and occasionally participates in school visits and college fairs.
- Provides coverage in the Admissions Office by responding to inquiries from prospective and current students via phone, email, and in-person interactions, ensuring that all questions are directed to the correct resources when necessary.
- Supports Marketing department with posting pre-approved content on Admissions social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to publicize admissions events and general recruitment messaging.
- Assists with the organization of campus tours and works with Student Ambassadors, staff, and faculty to facilitate general campus tours for prospective students.
- Assists in maintaining accurate files for prospective and current students, tracking inquiries, and updating admission status information.
- Performs administrative tasks such as generating letters, organizing student files, maintaining recruitment logs, and preparing simple data reports on admissions activities.
- Processes student applications through all stages of the admissions lifecycle using Banner, Target X, MS Office, and other relevant software. Ensures accurate and timely data entry and status updates.
- Works cooperatively with Financial Aid, Advising, Academic Affairs, and other relevant offices to ensure smooth transitions for students entering NHTI.
- Serves on college committees as required;
- Complies with all System, College, State and Federal rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Once year (1) year of experience in sales, customer service, student services, admissions, or a related field, with responsibility for providing program information to the public. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation to perform statewide and out-of-state travel as necessary.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the sales, marketing, and/or customer services practices. Ability to meet with prospective students, education institutions, and community organizations to explain programs sponsored by the college. Knowledge of and experience with operating systems, (e.g. Student Information Systems), data management, and other database platforms. Ability to contribute to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to make sound judgment in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data or resources in organizing required information. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form and to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
