Director of Accounting & Finance
River Valley Community College – Fulltime - Claremont Campus - Director of Accounting & Finance Application Process: CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state. Scope of Work: Reporting to the President, the Director of Accounting & Finance oversees the business operations and services with responsibility for directing all aspects of the bursar and business office functions and services and serves as the College’s budget and fiscal officer responsible for budget management, financial analysis and reporting, and advising on all fiscal matters. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in accounting, finance, business or public administration. Possession of a master’s degree in accounting, public or business administration may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Experience: Four (4) years of related experience in accounting or fiscal management, including three years of supervisory or administrative experience. License/Certifications: Valid drivers’ license or access to transportation for statewide travel. Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of and work experience in higher education. Knowledge of policies and operational characteristics of government funding agencies and financial regulatory entities. Knowledge of principle accounting standards and experience with financial information systems, Excel, and other office software. Knowledge of and experience with Excel and other office software. Ability to address critical financial needs. Ability to analyze financial data and generate financial reports. Ability to plan, direct and coordinate the accounting, bursar and business office activities. Experience in budget development and management. Knowledge of the procedures of preparation and negotiation of leases and contracts. Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations. Ability to prepare or supervise the operation of budgetary and purchasing requests. Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with supervisors, other employees, officials in other college or system departments and with the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by management.
