Position Overview:

NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Dental Assisting Clinical Experience I. This course provides students with essential knowledge focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance.

Schedule: Tuesdays 8:00-11:50 am, Tuesdays 1:00-4:50 pm, Fridays 9:00 am-12:50 pm

Location: NHTI Campus, Concord, NH

Course Description:

Clinic sessions are coordinated with lectures in preclinical theory. Demonstration and practice of procedures in simulated clinical situations include maintaining office asepsis, instrument sterilization, 4-handed chairside assisting, patient interaction and comfort, health history management, preliminary oral inspection, and taking alginate impressions. Recording patient information in Dentrix is introduced. A classroom seminar for learning activities and group discussion is included.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Dental Assisting Clinical Coordinator using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
  • Facilitate skill evaluations and hands-on skills to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) CDA certification (Certified Dental Assistant). Credentials in expanded dental assisting functions as required in New Hampshire.
  • Experience: Recent experience in the application of four-handed dentistry principles
  • Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, or MA.
