This is a part-time, grant funded position with funding secured through December 2026 (extends annually).

SCOPE OF WORK: Responsible for generating a strong pipeline of qualified and eligible business applicants for each cohort of the grant-funded Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Develops and cultivates partnerships with relevant stakeholders, such as business Chambers and associations throughout the region, entrepreneurship training programs, CDFIs and other lending institutions, industry associations, small business and entrepreneurship organizations, commercial corridor organizations in order to ensure robust participation and full enrollment in 10KSB peer learning cohort. This position reports to the 10K Small Businesses Program Administrator.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Generate an applicant funnel to meet or exceed the number of businesses required by the grant in each of 2 cohorts annually.
  • Track and report to Executive Director and other program partners on outreach metrics and yield for each event or outreach activity.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive outreach and marketing plan in order to attract a robust consistent pipeline of interested and eligible businesses to the program.
  • Manage the recruitment process for each cohort, including follow-up and continual contact with interested applicants to get them to full completion of all stages of the application process.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and staff in order to leverage existing knowledge and relationships in the small business development arena.
  • Develop and effectively manage relationships with key regional stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem who can contribute to the success of the program by promoting 10KSB to their eligible constituents.
  • Utilize multiple methodologies to develop a strong pipeline including, but not limited to presenting, coordinating, and running information sessions, mini-mods, and other events; networking and attending events within the ecosystem to recruit program participants directly; using various forms of communication and marketing strategies including approved social media, direct mail, and the program website to promote the program.
  • Utilize tracking system to identify and work with previous cohort applicants to complete all stages of the application process.
  • Work closely with ICIC, a Goldman Sachs recruitment partner, and other 10KSB team members in ensuring an effective recruitment strategy, consistent with the funder’s guidelines.
  • Utilize approved program collateral and marketing tools, to promote the program.
  • Identify regional networking events, venues, and activities targeting small businesses, and regularly attend these events; make presentations and staff 10KSB information tables.
  • Work with the Alumni Manager to leverage alumni to recruit peers into the program, and to participate or host peer events promoting the benefits of the program.
  • Identify and establish relationships that will enable the program to ensure participation rates among key targeted business owner populations including women-owned businesses, underserved community businesses, and other program targets.
  • Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations including Goldman Sachs Foundation guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with study in business administration, project management/support, marketing, account management, sales, business development.

Experience: Four (4) years’ experience in program development marketing, business communications and/or program outreach and enrollment for organizations, includes business administration, project management, marketing, account management, sales, and business development

License/Certification: Valid driver’s license for travel throughout the state. In and out of state travel required.

Desired Qualifications: Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs and the willingness to learn new tools (e.g., Salesforce, etc.) Bilingual preferred.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Considerable knowledge of the organization and operations of the department or college in which position is assigned. Considerable knowledge of the principles of administrative work including CRM and Constant Contact. Ability to perform research. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form and to speak before groups. Ability to detect and define problem areas and causes, and to develop effective solutions, including the exercise of sound judgement in evaluating situations, planning action, making decisions, and setting priorities. Ability to work independently and coordinate planning activities. Ability to provide leadership. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with college officials, employees, community-based organizations and school personnel, and the general public. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college’s appointing authority.
