General Summary: Reporting to the CCSNH Director of Human Resources, the Employment and Compensation Manager oversees the recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding systems and processes, including managing organizational structure, compensation structure, recruitment and staffing strategies and initiatives, and ensuring fair and competitive compensation structures, accurate job descriptions, and a streamlined recruitment process. General HR Duties:
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, Education, social sciences or related discipline. Experience: Six (6) years of experience in human resources, with a focus on recruitment, classification and compensation administration, or general human resources administration. Human resources experience within higher education desired. License/Certification: HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) desired. Valid Driver’s License or access to statewide transportation. Additional Desired Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of human resource systems and practices with particular emphasis on job classification and compensation, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding practices. Ability to demonstrate discretion, exercise sound judgment, and maintain strictest confidentiality. Ability to effectively evaluate employment applicants and coach hiring managers or committees on how to do the same. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail, especially in the understanding, interpretation, and application of federal, state, CCNH, and college policies. Demonstrated ability to identify, resolve, and consult on issues pertaining to classification, compensation, and recruitment while focusing on institutional needs and priorities. Ability to work independently. Proficient in the use of technology, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other graphic presentation software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work successfully in a collective bargaining environment. Ability to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by management.
