ESOL/Department of Multicultural Engagement Intern

This position is a temporary intern position, effective April 17, 2026 – June 30, 2026.

SCOPE OF WORK: Assists in providing support services and event planning for the Department of Multicultural Engagement. This position reports to the Department Chair/Director of Multicultural Engagement at Nashua Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintains accurate attendance records for department-sponsored events by preparing and managing sign-in documentation.
  • Conducts outreach calls to promote participation in departmental programs, including New Student Orientation and International Café.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive ESOL alumni database for departmental use.
  • Supports the planning and coordination of ESOL events, including the Graduation Get-Together.
  • Collaborates with Peer Mentors to facilitate appropriate mentor-mentee pairings for ESOL students.
  • Assists in connecting students with tutoring resources to support academic success.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent credential.

Experience: No experience required.

License/Certification: None required.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of proper English usage and grammar. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to learn assigned administrative tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed departmental procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and students. Possess professional phone and customer service skills. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college’s appointing authority.
