GBCC Adjunct Faculty - Developmental Chemistry
CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state. Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required. Semester: Fall 2026 Semester Adjunct Faculty: Chemistry The instructor will be responsible for helping to prepare and to teach a 16-week live fall course: Developmental Chemistry. The instructor must be available during the scheduled in person course time, and ideally should be experienced in Canvas LMS. Developmental Chemistry: 31-Aug-26 to 19-Dec-26 Tuesdays 1:00 PM - 3:50 PM Course: CHEM043 – Developmental Chemistry This high-school-level course in chemistry examines the structure of matter and the nature of chemical reactions. Particular attention will be given to the types of reactions that apply to the health field. These credits do not count toward graduation requirements. Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require in classroom or online instruction. The compensation rate is $850-$1000 per contact hour [or $47.95 - $59.45 [per clinical rate per hour if applicable]. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience. The minimum qualifications for the position are as follows: Education: Master’s degree in chemistry or related area. Experience: Experience teaching or working in the field of science.
